First day at a new school.

Created by Darren 8 years ago
I was one of the original and lucky to be one of the 14 to start at the Malcolm Sergeant from its beginnings. Mr Knight was simply a giant amongst teachers. From the first day when he let me ring the break hand bell, to my last day when I passed the 11 plus, he was a constant source of wisdom and kindness. He knew everyone's first name, and made everything fun to learn. I can still recall him making stone picking on the new sports field fun!
Along with other stalwarts such as Mrs Stokes, Mr Woolard, Mrs Laughton, he made such an impression on my life. Even visiting in later years he still knew my name and made time for a chat and took great pride in showing me around the school and it's pupils academic accomplishments.
I am truly saddened by his passing. A great man indeed, a true gent.

With deepest sympathy
Darren Fountain.
