I got to know Paul well during our three years at Culham. We did the extra third year doing the Rural Studies course together. We became very good friends. We spent holiday times at each others homes and he arranged for me to buy his father's old Ford car. Then in our free time he taught me to drive and took me to Newbury to take the driving test. Fellow students called us "Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee"as we were always together. Looking back I realise Paul was a great inspiration to many. Kind, sensible, generous with his time, good sense of humour, dedicated, never seemed to get angry -in all, a great companion. I am sorry we lost touch for some years, but reunited eventually when we met and toured the old college, then later at his anniversary in Bournemouth. I am sorry I never met his wife, but pleased to get to know Camilla-who has been a wonderful, loving ,kind daughter especially in Paul's difficult last years. I am sad that I did not get to see him again.
Rest in peace dear friend.
